I hope you found this tutorial on how to curve text in Silhouette Studio helpful. Now you can fill your text with a color if you want or just send it to cut. By making the circle transparent, it will not cut. Or you can make the circle transparent (no fill) by clicking the dropdown menu in the upper left. You can then delete the circle shape and the text will stay in its curved shape. After you make the text a compound path, you can no longer edit the text.
This turns the text into a path instead of individual letters. When you have your text the way you want it, select all the text and click “Make Compound Path”.
To fix this, simply drag the black circle to the outside of the circle shape and adjust the spacing of the letters with the slider. When you do this, your text may look like this (see below). To place text around the bottom of the circle, double click it and drag the black circle on top of the circle shape. Now place the word “Sweet” around the bottom of the circle. To curve the text around your circle, click on the black circle and drag the text on top of the circle shape that you just drew. There will be a black circle with cross-hairs in the bottom left. When you do this, a green box will appear around the text. Using the Drawing Tools (circle icon on the left hand column), draw a circle around your design.ĭouble click on the text.
